Brassic Ends Its Run with Influenced by Tarantino Last Episode
The creators Joseph Gilgun and Danny Brocklehurst are concluding on their humorous show about a close-knit group of likable chancers running riot in a rural Lancashire town. You might expect the last episode to be a greatest hits victory lap of booze, drugs and cheeky thievery. However, the vibes are distinctly darker as the character Vinnie, played by Gilgun and the gang hole up in a bar with gangster Davey MacDonagh for a final 50th installment apparently inspired by Quentin Tarantino.

The veterinary adventures are all fine, but this excellent historical series proves its worth with emotional character development. An especially moving installment intertwines the tales of a lame shire horse and a missing young cow into a deeper plotline centring on the character Tristan, whose behaviour prompts a brotherly confrontation.

It’s been a long road. Yet the penultimate episode of this at first slow-moving but ultimately compelling series about phone hacking sees Nick, portrayed by David Tennant discovering details about the News of the World’s conduct that the rest of the media simply are forced to acknowledge. The situation improves for the character Dave, who has a unexpected new supporter.
