Donald Trump publicly discussed employing the Insurrection Act after a court official in Oregon briefly halted a military reserve deployment in Portland.
"We have an emergency law for a reason. If I had to implement it I would proceed," the President told journalists in the Oval Office, stating, "if people were being killed and courts were holding us up or governors or mayors were holding us up, sure I would do that."
