Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of heroes who will branch out from the main group to embark on their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might appear mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
First, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a intense opening clash with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the narrative’s action—used the foes for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then paid off his obligations and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each member has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks vengeance.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous environment.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
- Yet, their status as key figures in the influential clan could assist the group access places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The rogue and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The cleric turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This results in them no alternative but to travel to Timmony in search of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
Based on the latest episode’s post-show segment, we find out that the Soldiers table will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the cast members to assemble the Questers and Schemers tables.
Fans can look forward to discovering which characters will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
