Orbital Images Indicate Iranian Naval Forces and Atomic Locations Damaged by American and Israeli Airstrikes.

Multiple US and Israeli attacks has allegedly sunk or crippled a minimum of eleven warships belonging to Iran starting Saturday, recently obtained orbital imagery demonstrate, with launch facilities and nuclear sites also coming under fire.

Photographs of the southern Konarak naval base and the Bandar Abbas installation, which is located on the Strait of Hormuz and is home to the headquarters of the Iran's naval force, reveal plumes of smoke rising from multiple warships on recent days.

Maritime Assets Sustained Substantial Damage

Included in the targets eliminated was the IRINS Makran, Iran's biggest warship which had been used as a unmanned aerial vehicle platform. Orbital photos showed dark plumes emanating from the vessel which had been docked at the Bandar Abbas naval base.

Intelligence evaluations state that at least five vessels at Bandar Abbas were "hit or sunk". Pictures of the southern part of the harbor reveal plumes ascending from the IRINS Makran, while additional vessels are visibly impacted, with a single one seen burning.

Over at Konarak, images reveal several harmed vessels, with expert review pointing to strikes against six ships. Pictures taken on the start of the week also show that a number of structures at the base have been demolished.

"For decades the Iran's leadership has harassed commercial vessels," a senior US military official said. "Now, there is not one Iranian vessel operational in the Arabian Gulf, Hormuz Strait or Gulf of Oman, and we will not stop."

A number of vessels reportedly destroyed may have been concealed in aerial photos by haze or plumes, or targeted offshore, and have yet to be fully confirmed. Other accounts indicated that a ship from Iran was foundering off the coast of Sri Lanka's territorial waters, resulting in a search and rescue mission.

Rocket Sites and Nuclear Locations Targeted

Neutralizing Iranian missile bases and the prevention of enrichment activities were listed as additional goals of the military strikes. Aerial imagery also depicted damage at the southerly Khorgu and northwestern Tabriz missile bases, and at the Konarak air base, where missile storage facilities and bunkers were targeted.

At the Choqa Balk-e drone UAV facility to the west of Kermanshah, widespread damage was identified to sheds, bunkers and unmanned aircraft systems.

Damage was also noted at a radar site at the Zahedan airbase airbase in eastern parts of the country, close to the border with neighboring nations.

Perhaps most notably, the most recent series of attacks have apparently hit sites at Natanz – widely believed to be at the core of Iran's enrichment efforts. The UN's atomic energy body stated that the damaged structures were used for access to the site's below-ground enrichment facility and that "no nuclear fallout" was anticipated.

Broader Consequences and Analysis

Observers suggested that the attacks appeared to have "largely neutralized" the Iran's naval capability to sustain conventional attacks using its most significant vessels. Nevertheless, it was emphasised that Iran still has the option to launch unconventional attacks at sea through the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, mini-submarines and its so-called "ghost fleet" of oil ships.

The total extent of the destruction caused to Iran's defense infrastructure has yet to be fully assessed, with hostilities said to be persisting. Photos also reveals considerable destruction to the main offices of the Iran's Revolutionary Guards in the capital Tehran.

Numerous of non-military structures also seem to have been struck in the capital and across the country since the hostilities started. Toll estimates from ground sources indicate that hundreds of civilians may have been killed in the attacks.

As the situation develops, review of satellite imagery will continue to assess the changing scope of damage.
