President Donald Trump revealed on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to visit the executive mansion.

He mentioned that he contacted her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Details on the Devastating Shooting

Specialist Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a attack on Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

Vigils across West Virginia have been held in their memory.

Presidential Invitation

The commander-in-chief explained he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the loved ones of both individuals of the state Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a tough thing, visit the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” the president informed reporters. “And similarly with him, recover or not.”

Public Response

Attendees assembled over the weekend at Webster County high school in West Virginia to remember Beckstrom.

Both they had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of Trump’s national effort to support policing efforts in DC.

Remembering the Soldier

“Sarah was the individual that teachers hoped for. She behaved with calm resilience, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged those around her,” the principal, the principal of Beckstrom’s alma mater, stated to the press. “She was kind, caring and always ready to assist people.”

Funeral plans for Sarah are still being arranged.

Legal Actions and Policy Revisions

Law enforcement have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with a charge of homicide and two counts of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The event led the Trump administration to halt refugee claims and temporarily stop providing entry permits to holders of Afghan passports.

Status of Wolfe

Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, began his service in 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the Associated Press.

He continues to receive treatment and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia leader Morrisey mentioned on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general the attorney general stated on Fox News Sunday that she also intended to visit Wolfe’s family.

Memory of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from her high school in 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a law enforcement officer with distinction, according to the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she absolutely had courage,” Morrisey addressed the crowd at the vigil. “Though her time ended too soon, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
