The Streaming Giant Selects Spot-On Performer for Bentham in the Hit Series Third Season
Baroque Works is poised to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, even if the real showdown isn’t set to occur until the next season, and a adored, popular member has recently been selected.
The streaming service revealed recently that the talented performer is now part of the One Piece season 3 cast and will embody Mr. 2. The role can use their power to change into an exact copy of anyone they’ve touched with their dominant hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will play a interpretation of that figure reinterpreted as non-binary identifying, instead of as a drag artist, in the live-action series, differing from the original manga and cartoon version.
Escola joins several other recently announced actors set to bring Baroque Works to the screen, including leader Sir Crocodile, brought to life by Joe Manganiello, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and a familiar face, who also joins the cast as the ruler of the desert kingdom.
Though this character is a important part of the organization, the character won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. Considering the next season likely to portray the Little Garden storyline, this signals a notable change in the timing of their first appearance, one that could signal additional alterations to the story’s structure.
Their mix of excellent comedic sense and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the character. In addition to their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and numerous honors for writing and starring in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, showcasing the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece program is set to return for its season two on March 10, 2026.
