Vehicles in Germany's Town Discovered Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Police stated they were notified by a man who found a vehicle in Hanau covered with reddish substance

Roughly fifty cars have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Cars, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.

Officers say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored substance.

The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they added.

Police then discovered many other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement state preliminary tests show the substance was probably blood from a person.

"Currently there is no indication as to where it came from; investigators are currently not informed of any injuries in relation with the incident," they stated.

Local authorities announced they were working "to unravel the case" and have asked to the community for information.

An important official stated the attack rendered him speechless and had to be addressed rapidly.

"This event strikes at the center of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the far-right violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on online, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at people of foreign heritage in 2020.
